artistic statement

I write for people who recognize themselves at the intersection of authenticity and shame. Writing from a place of intimacy and empathy, my goal is to render characters who reflect all of our vulnerable aches, the feelings that slither out the back door despite our best attempts to confine them. My favorite stories are unflinching in their depiction of the human capacity for sensation (the good, the bad, and everything in between). I write for the same reason I read: to recognize myself and everyone I know.
